I bought tickets to see Carole King and James Taylor play at our local Rose Quarter Stadium.
I've seen JT many times before but have never seen Carole King and seeing them together was a once-in-a-lifetime chance.
Their music is the music of my childhood and a deep connection to my parents. They had her Tapestry album when it came out in the 70's when I was just 10. My mom was close with a high school girl she was trying to help stay out of trouble and the album was a favorite of both of theirs.
I went with Chris and afterwards I told her that seeing this kind of thing is like dropping mentos into my emotional 2 liter coke. Hard to maintain my composure.
I was born in Northern California moved to Oregon in Jr High. Attended college in Eastern Washington. Got married and moved to Southern California. Moved back to Oregon and bought a house where we live today.
